The head coach of the Super Eagles, Eric Chelle, was in the stands as Kano Pillars staged a comeback to defeat holders Rangers 2-1 at the Sani Abacha Stadium on Sunday.
The Independent Mirror reports that, Enugu Rangers’ Bashir Usman silenced the home crowd when he converted from the penalty spot in the 33rd minute.
Kano Pillars’ legendary midfielder, Rabiu Ali, leveled the score for the Sai Masu Gida, with another penalty three minutes before halftime.
A minute before the final whistle, Jerry Alex secured all three points for Kano Pillars in the 2024/2025 Nigerian Premier Football League (NPFL) season.
Eric Chelle was spotted watching Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa in action for Kano Pillars in what was a high-profile NPFL clash.
The Super Eagles are set to face Rwanda on March 21 in Kigali, followed by a match against Zimbabwe four days later in Uyo.
Ahead of these fixtures, people remain Coach Chelle decision or is set to make a final says on whether to include Ahmed Musa in his squad.
According to multiple sources, the new Super Eagles coach will base his decision on Musa’s performance in Sunday’s game.
It recalls Ahmed Musa was named Man of the Match in Pillars’ 1-0 victory over Akwa United in midweek, by the SWAN Kano chapter.
