The 38th edition of the Dala Hard Courts Tennis Championship is set to kick off from November 20th to 29th, 2025, at the Kano Club Tennis Section, featuring over 200 players from across the country.
The Independent Mirror reports that while speaking to journalists, the Tournament Director, Alhaji Yusuf Datti, said preparations have already begun ahead of the competition.
Datti, who also serves as the Vice President of the Nigerian Tennis Federation, revealed that the preliminary rounds will take place from November 21st to 23rd, while the main draw will commence on Monday, November 24th, with the final scheduled for November 29th.
The organizers have requested the NTF to invite the top 20 ranked men and the top 10 ranked ladies to participate in the main draw of the event.
According to Alhaji Datti, this year’s budget is expected to be higher than last year’s due to the general rise in prices, as well as the involvement of sponsors including TGI, First Bank PLC, Fidelity Bank, and support from other corporate organizations and individuals.
He added that the talented teenage player, who debuted in the championship as a 14-year-old amateur in 2023, went on to win the female category.
Datti commended Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and other top government officials for their support and cooperation, which he said has helped promote and develop the game of tennis in the state and across the country.
He assured that the leadership of the Dala Hard Courts Tennis Championship will continue to work tirelessly to promote and develop the sport both in the state and nationwide.
