A Kano-based sports journalist, Aminu Halilu Tudun Wada, has called on Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf to dissolve the entire management and board of Kano Pillars FC, while retaining the club’s General Manager, Ahmed Musa MON.

The Independent Mirror reports that Aminu Halilu made the call in a post shared on his verified Facebook page on Thursday.

According to Aminu Tudun Wada, the appeal was made on behalf of Kano youths and football supporters who are deeply concerned about the club’s current situation in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

“His Excellency, Abba Kabir Yusuf, we the youths of Kano State appeal to you to please reconsider and look into the situation of our dear Kano Pillars FC as it stands today in the NPFL,” he wrote.

“We understand from credible sources that the state government is funding the team, but it is unclear who is siphoning the funds.

The current situation of the club continues to deteriorate week after week, and the team is now in a very difficult position.”

Aminu further pleaded with the governor to dissolve the existing board and management and entrust the affairs of the club fully to Ahmed Musa.

“Don Allah don Annabi, dissolve the entire board and management and leave the team in the hands of GM Ahmed Musa MON. Entrust him with the handling of funds, as he is doing his utmost best to save the club. In fact, he has even been using his personal resources to support the team.”

He expressed confidence that with Ahmed Musa’s leadership and without interference from what he described as “fifth columnists,” Kano Pillars would avoid relegation this season and return stronger next season.

“With his leadership, I am very sure we will survive this season and avoid relegation, and by next season, Kano Pillars will compete for trophies.”

Aminu concluded by describing the message as a passionate plea from Kano Pillars supporters and football lovers across the state.

“This is a passionate appeal, not only from me but from Kano Pillars fans and football lovers across Kano State. Thank you, Your Excellency. Allah ya yi jagora. Amin.”

Kano Pillars FC, popularly known as Sai Masu Gida, are currently struggling in the 2025/2026 NPFL season, sitting 19th on the league table and battling to escape the relegation zone.
