The Imo State Chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), has finalised plans to decorate the Chairman of Nigeria National League (NNL), George Aluo, as its Sports Iconic Administrator of the Year.
The Independent mirror reports that the SWAN, Imo Chapter will have its annual week between November 12th and 16th with series of events and programmes earmarked to make the week-long activities a memorable event.
The Imo SWAN Week will climax on Saturday, November 16th with its award day and one of the important personalities to be recognised for their good deeds to the eastern heartland is Aluo whose reign has brought about significant changes at the NNL.
In a press statement jointly signed by Chairman, Cosmos Chukwuemeka and Secretary, Tunde Liadi, the body disclosed that:
“We write to officially notify you that you have been nominated for the prestigious award of Honour/Excellence as Imo SWAN Sports Iconic Administrator of the Year by the Imo State Chapter of SWAN.
“Your choice for the award is Imo SWAN’s token of appreciation for your immense contributions to the promotion and growth of sports in Imo State, nay Nigeria at large as well as your friendly disposition towards our Association.
“As one of the very few notable sports personalities carefully selected for this honour, we request your esteemed presence on the occasion of the grand finale of our Imo SWAN Week 2024 which holds on Saturday 16th November, 2024 at Rockview Hotel, Owerri.”
All roads lead to Rockview Hotel, Owerri on November 16th when the NNL Chairman, George Aluo and other prominent sons and daughters of Imo State would be honoured for all their good works to Imo State and beyond.
