The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), has organised a series of career talks for secondary school students across Kano State, as part of activities marking its 61st anniversary in 2025
The Independent Mirror reports that the 61st anniversary celebration, which runs from May 1 to 15, 2025, observed across various NAF bases, including in Makurdi, Bauchi, Lagos, Kaduna, Maiduguri, and Kano.
In Kano, the Commander of the 455 Base Services Group of the Nigerian Air Force, Group Captain Mustapha Sulaiman, led a delegation to several secondary schools.
These included Government Secondary School Gwale, Federal Government College Kano, Nigerian Tulip International College Kano, and Rochas Foundation School.
Speaking at Government Secondary School, Gwale, Group Captain Mustapha Sulaiman described the NAF’s 61 years of service as a symbol of unwavering dedication, perseverance, and valour.
He encouraged Nigerian youth, both male and female, to come, see, join, and connect with their Air Force, emphasizing the inclusive opportunities available within the NAF.
Group Captain Sulaiman also commended the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, for his visionary leadership and strategic direction in initiating the outreach program.
He highlighted the importance of the anniversary celebrations, which include school visits, career guidance sessions, and interactive engagements with various NAF units.
The 455 Base Services Group’s outreach featured mentorship and career talks delivered by officers including Flying Officer FMD Mankilik, Corporal Tititimi, and Lance Corporal Haruna.
