U-17 World Cup: Flamingos of Nigeria Thrash Algeria 4-0

Nigeria’s U-17 women’s team, the Flamingos, thrashed Algeria 4-0 in the 2025 U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers held in Morocco.

The Independent Mirror reports that the match was played on Saturday in Ikenne, Ogun State.

The Flamingos dominated the game, with Queen Joseph opening the scoring in the 3rd minute.

Ten minutes later, Raji doubled the lead, and Joseph secured her brace to give Nigeria a 3-0 advantage before halftime.

In the second half, Animashaun sealed the emphatic win with a 90th-minute strike.

With this victory, the Flamingos will travel to Blida, Algeria, for the second leg of the qualifier, scheduled to take place on Friday, April 25.
