The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Kano State Chapter, has paid an inspection visit to two ongoing stadium projects in Bichi Local Government Area of Kano State.

The Independent Mirror reports that the inspection tour was led by the Chairman of SWAN Kano Chapter, Zahradeeb Sale, alongside a member of the SWAN National Executive Council, Lurwanu Idris Malikawa Garu, and other executive members of the association.

The projects are being executed by Hon. Abubakar Kabiru Abubakar Bichi, the Member representing Bichi Federal Constituency at the National Assembly.

The projects include a 20,000-capacity ultra-modern Bichi Stadium and the Bichi Township Stadium located at Hagagawa along Katsina Road. Both facilities are designed to meet modern sporting standards.

Speaking during the visit, the Chairman of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Zahradeeb Sale, commended the quality of work at the project sites, describing the initiative as a major step towards boosting sports development in the area.

He noted that the completion of the stadia would promote grassroots sports and enhance sporting activities in Bichi Local Government Area and Kano State at large.

According to him, when completed, the projects will provide a platform for youth engagement, unity, and economic development through sports across the 44 local government areas of Kano State and the nation at large.

Sports analysts also observed that, if properly maintained, the stadiums could rank among the best facilities capable of hosting CAF Champions League matches.

The analysts further urged Kano State Senators, Members of the House of Representatives, and State House of Assembly members to emulate the initiative of Hon. Abubakar Kabiru Abubakar Bichi in promoting sports development and youth empowerment.
