One Touch Football Academy Strong Ties with European Countries

by Ahmad Hamisu Gwale

The journey of One Touch Football Club has been nothing short of inspiring, marked by dedication, resilience, and strategic partnerships.

The Independent mirror reports that spearheaded by the exceptional efforts of Adams Mohammed (Babawo Lecturer), a top FIFA players’ license agent, along with the management of One Touch Football Club, the club has risen from humble beginnings to establish vital connections with top European clubs.

Founded in 2021 with a clear vision to nurture young football talents, One Touch Football Club faced significant challenges in its early stages.

According to Coach Yakubu Auta Magama, many doubted their ability to achieve meaningful results. Yet, through perseverance, hard work, and unwavering belief in their mission, the club continued to develop talented players and provide them with opportunities to excel.

A turning point for the academy came when Chris Adams, a coach from Leeds United, visited Nigeria through the efforts of Babawo Mohammed.

Adams’ visit was instrumental in introducing modern coaching techniques to One Touch Football club, helping to bridge the gap between Nigerian grassroots football and European standards.

During his three-month stay in Nigeria, Adams worked closely with the club’s players and coaches, focusing on improving tactical awareness and technical skills—areas where Nigerian players often lag behind due to limited access to structured training programs.

He emphasized the natural flair, strength, and physicality of Nigerian players but stressed that developing their tactical understanding would elevate their potential even further.

Adams’ visit wasn’t without challenges. Nigeria’s warm climate posed a test to players’ endurance and recovery. Significantly, Adams adapted his coaching methods by modifying the intensity of training sessions, prioritizing hydration, and implementing recovery strategies.

These adjustments proved crucial in maintaining player performance levels throughout the program.

One of the most remarkable achievements following Adams’ visit was the successful identification of 21 talented players from an initial pool of 50 athletes.

These players were selected to travel to the United Kingdom for a six-month intensive training program, where they would participate in competitive tournaments.

This opportunity not only provides exposure but also a chance to impress European scouts and secure professional contracts.

In addition to this, eight players from One Touch Football Club have already signed professional contracts in Europe, marking a significant milestone for the Team growth and reputation.

Coach Yakubu Auta Magama’s role in this success cannot be overstated. As the tactical mind behind One Touch Football Club, Magama has consistently demonstrated a deep understanding of player development.

His goal remains clear—to produce players capable of representing Nigeria at the national team level.

Magama’s personal journey, which began with him returning from the UK with only his bags and determination, reflects his dedication to nurturing young talents and proving that grassroots players can thrive on the global stage.

During an interview with journalists, coaches Adams and Auta praised the management of One Touch FC for their efforts in providing welfare packages, professionalism in administration, and creating an environment that allows clubs to showcase their talent through scouting programs sponsored by the One Touch FC management.
