Deputy President Of The Senate, Dr. Barau Jibril, visited Barau FC Home Stadium, as Maliya Boys beat Sokoto United 1-0 in the Nigerian National League NNL match day five.
The Independent Mirror reports that the match between two teams held on Saturday at the Dambatta Stadium, Kano state, as the Maliya Boys defeated Caliphate Boys.
Barau Jibril, among the thousand fans, witnessed the match in order to support the team to win against the rivalry.
Okeke Ekechikwu, scored the goals in 50 minutes assisted by Najib Yusuf to lead the Barau FC winning first NNL match season.
The interim technical adviser of Barau FC Rabi”u Tata commended the effort from the players to secure a first season match in the NNL.
“Actually I am very happy for this victory, look how three new players make us proud of the way played very well ” Tata added.
He emphasized the team will remain focused ahead of the upcoming next matches in the Nigerian National League NNL 2024/2025.
Barau FC will be travelling to Kebbi state for the match day six against Zamfara United on Sunday 19 January 2025, at the FIFA Goal Project stadium, Birnin Kebbi.
