Nassarawa United, Elkanemi Warriors, Ikorodu City and Beyond Limits have been promoted to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) next season.
Elkanemi Warriors from Borno State, beat Sokoto United 4-1 to secure the NPFL and emerge second after earning six points to finish second in the Super 8 Table.
While Nasarawa United, from Nassarawa State, pipped Sporting Supreme 2-1, that team earned them a spot in the NPFL with nine points.
Recall that both Elkanemi Warriors, and Nassarawa United from the Northern Conference were relegated from the NPFL last season.
But on the northern side, Beyond Limits have been crowned 2023/2024 of the Nigeria National League Champions.
The Ogun-based team defeated Nasarawa United 4-3 on penalties in the final of the NNL Super Eight playoffs last week.
After Beyond Limits, Ikorodu City will be playing in the country’s Nigerian Football Premier League for the first time in their history after they, alongside the three others, secured their slot in the NNL Super 8 playoff.
Ikorodu City and Beyond Limits were the top two in the Southern Conference of the NNL to gain promotion to the Nigerian Football Premier League NPFL next season.
The four teams Promoted to NPFL are Nassarawa United from Nassarawa State, Elkanemi Warriors from Borno State, all from the Northern Conference.
While others from the Southern Conference include Beyond Limits FC from Ogun State, and Ikorodu City from Lagos State all participate in the new NPFL Season 2024/2025 following thier different victories.
