Kano Pillars Emerges Champions Pre-season Tournament Peace and Unity Cup 2023

Kano Pillars Football Club (FC) has emerged champions in the 2023 Maiden Edition of Pre-season Tournament tagged Peace and Unity Cup held in Kano on Wednesday.

Independent Mirror report that the one week tournament was competed between four clubs which include, Kano Pillars, Gombe United, Katsina United and Niger Tornadoes football clubs.

Pillars A.K.A “Sai Masu Gida” emerged champions with seven points in the three matches played, wining two and drawn one.

Declaring the competition closed at Sani Abacha Stadium Kofar mata Kano, the Chairman sports committee in the Kano State House of assembly Alhaji Kabiru Dahiru congratulated Pillars football club and described football as a unifying factor among people in the country.

He described the tournament as timely and hoped that such kind of tournament will continue to be organized among Northern teams in order to promote unity and understanding among the people and states Government in the North.

In his remarks, the board member in the Nigeria football federation who is double the football Association Chairman Kano state Alhaji Sharif Rabi’u Ahlan commended the organizers of the competition and advised the participating teams to take it as a litmus test ahead of the forthcoming 2023/2024 Nigeria Premier league season.

In Post match reactions, Pillars FC Technical Adviser Abdu Maikaba said the competition gives him an opportunity to study the areas they have weaknesses and pledged to take action before the commencement of the 2023/2024 football Season.

Coach Maikaba hoped that at end of the 2023/2024 Nigeria Premier league season, the Sai Masu Gida will be among clubs that would represent the country in confederation of African Football (CAF) champions league.
