Barau FC Chairman Congratulates NFF President on WAFU B Election

The Chairman of Barau FC, Ambassador Ibrahim Shitu Chanji, has congratulated the President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau, on his election as Acting President of the CAF WAFU B Zone.

The Independent Mirror reports that Ambassador Chanji, speaking on behalf of the entire management,  coaches, players, and supporters of Barau FC, described the appointment as a well-deserved recognition of Alhaji Gusau’s dedication and leadership.

“I want to congratulate the NFF President, Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau, on his election. It’s a testament to the commitment and work he has put into making Nigerian football as beautiful and thriving as it is currently,” Chanji said.

He further expressed confidence that Gusau will bring the same level of passion and excellence to WAFU B as he has demonstrated at the NFF, thereby fostering greater unity and progress among member nations.

Recall that Ibrahim Musa Gusau, has been unanimously elected as the 1st Vice President of the West African Football Union (WAFU) Zone B, following election took place on Friday in Niamey, Niger Republic, during the 17th Ordinary Assembly of WAFU Zone B.

He will serve alongside Ghana Football Association President Kurt Edwin-Simeon Okraku, who was elected WAFU Zone B President, and Burkina Faso Football Federation President Oumarou Sawadogo, who takes on the role of 2nd Vice President.

WAFU Zone B comprises seven member nations: Nigeria, Togo, Benin Republic, Ghana, Burkina Faso, Niger Republic, and Côte d’Ivoire.

Since becoming NFF President in September 2022, Gusau has built an impressive resume in African football governance.

His roles include serving on the Organizing Committee for the African Nations Championship (CHAN) and contributing as a top security officer for both FIFA and CAF.
