England’s all-time leading striker, Harry Kane, has finally secured his first professional trophy, ended 5,223 days after making his debut in 2010.
The Independent Mirror reports that Bayern Munich were crowned 2024/2025 Bundesliga champions with two games to spare after second-placed and defending champions Bayer Leverkusen drew 2-2 away to Freiburg on Sunday.
The title had all but been sealed already, with Leverkusen needing to win their final three matches, overturn a 30-goal difference, and hope Bayern lost their last two.
The England captain joined Bayern from boyhood club Tottenham Hotspur in 2023. He is now on track to become the first player to finish his first two Bundesliga seasons as the league’s top scorer.
Kane scored 36 goals in his debut season and has already netted 24 times this season, with two matches remaining.
Kane had previously lost a Champions League final and two Carabao Cup finals with Tottenham, two European Championship finals with England, and the German Super Cup on his Bayern debut last season.
The 31-year-old will return for Saturday’s home game against Borussia Mönchengladbach, where Bayern will celebrate with fans at the Allianz Arena.
After nearly 700 career appearances for club and country, Harry Kane has, at last, lifted a trophy in 2025 ending one of football’s most talked-about title droughts.
