Kano Pillars have appointed Daniel Ogunmodede as their new Technical Adviser after successfully concluding negotiations.

The Independent Mirror reports that, according to the club’s Media Director, Isma’eel Abba Tangalashi, the former Remo Stars head coach has signed a undisclosed contract with the four-time Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) champions.

According to reports, Ogunmodede will arrive with his own backroom staff as Sai Masu Gida begin preparations for the 2026/27 season.

Ogunmodede takes charge following an impressive spell at Remo Stars, where he transformed the Ikenne-based club into one of the country’s leading sides and guided them to their first-ever NPFL title.

His success also earned him recognition at the national team level, serving as an assistant coach of the Super Eagles while building a reputation as one of the league’s most progressive managers.

The appointment reflects Kano Pillars’ determination to build on the restructuring that has taken place behind the scenes ahead of the new season.

The club recently unveiled a new management board led by Ahmad Musa and outlined an ambitious vision of restoring the former league champions to the summit of Nigerian football.

The 46-year-old’s decision to bring his own technical crew signals the club’s willingness to give him full control of football operations.

With pre-season preparations fast approaching, attention will now shift to player recruitment as Ogunmodede begins assembling a squad capable of meeting Kano Pillars’ lofty ambitions for the 2026/27 campaign.
