The Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, Femi Gbajabiamila, has urged former northern lawmakers to support President Tinubu’s re-election bid in the upcoming 2027 general elections.
The Independent Mirror reports that Gbajabiamila made the appeal during a dialogue session held in Abuja, where he described Tinubu as a national leader who has ensured inclusivity across all regions.
“President Tinubu is not just a southern leader; he is a national leader who has carried every region along,” Gbajabiamila stated.
He highlighted several ongoing infrastructure projects in northern Nigeria—including road construction, railway expansion, and agricultural revitalisation—as proof of the administration’s commitment to balanced development.
Gbajabiamila stressed that Nigeria’s progress hinges on unity, continuity, and respect for political agreements.
“We are laying solid foundations today, and it is only right that the President is allowed to finish what he started,” he said
The Chief of Staff further noted that the northern region is already benefiting from the administration’s initiatives.
“From critical infrastructure to policy reforms, the North is benefitting from a government that believes in equity and shared prosperity,” he added.
Gbajabiamila’s remarks reflect the administration’s broader efforts to build nationwide support for Tinubu’s 2027 re-election campaign.
