A multimedia journalist with Image Merchants Promotion Limited (IMPR), publishers of PRNigeria and Economic Confidential, Salis Manaja, has been abducted by suspected gunmen.
The Independent Mirror reports that the media professional was on his way to Ilorin, Kwara State, for the annual PRNigeria Young Communication Fellowship program.
The incident occurred on Saturday when Manaja was on his way from Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, to Ilorin for the event.
A source and colleague close to the victim told SaharaReporters on Monday that the abductors had contacted the family and demanded a ransom, but did not disclose the amount requested.
The Program Lead Muhammad Dahiru Lawal told that several attempts by his colleagues to reach him were unsuccessful as his phone line became unreachable.
