WAFU B U20: Flying Eagles Beat Cote d’Ivoire Qualify To SemiFinal

Nigerian Flying Eagles beat Cote d’Ivoire, qualified for the semifinal of the on-going U20 AFCON qualifying tournament in Lome, Togo.

The Independent Mirror reports that Eagles on Thursday beat Cote d’Ivoire 2-1 in a final Group B match.

The Flying Eagles will therefore battle Niger, who finished second in Group A on Saturday afternoon.

Nigeria emerged the second in Group B with three points and scored more goals than their two other rivals.

Burkina Faso recorded three points but were eliminated after they scored the least number of goals in the group.

The finalists of the 2024 WAFU B U20 football tournament will represent the region at the 2025 U20 African Cup of Nations billed for Egypt next year.

The CAF U20 AFCON will also serve at the qualifying tournaments for the 2025 FIFA U20 World Cup.with all the semi-finalists booking their World Cup tickets.
