The Member representing Bichi Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Abubakar Kabir Abubakar (Bichi), has employed and inaugurated 253 Bichi First Environmental Sanitation workers, Initiative to promote cleanliness, environmental sustainability, and public health across Bichi and its surrounding communities.
The Independent Mirror reports that the inauguration ceremony was held on Sunday, 28th December 2025, and was attended by all APC caucus membes, appointees, ward and local government party executives, ward coordinators and entire households.
The initiative aims to improve environmental sanitation, enhance public health awareness, and encourage community participation in maintaining a clean and healthy environment.
It also seeks to address environmental challenges linked to climate change and their impact on the lives of the people.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Abubakar Kabir, who is also the Chairman of the House Committee on Appropriations, urged the sanitation workers to use the opportunity to bring positive change, inspire community involvement, and contribute to a cleaner, healthier, and more orderly society.
He also commended Kano State Governor, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, and members of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) for their support in driving development and progress in Bichi.
“When we came to build and renovate schools in Bichi, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf gave us his full support. The same support was extended when we embarked on building the stadium. This is highly commendable,” Rep. Bichi said.

Some of the beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to Hon. Abubakar Kabir for the initiative, praying that Almighty Allah grants him continued success, strength, and protection in his leadership role.
With the inauguration of the 253 Bichi Environmental Sanitation Youths, the initiative is expected to promote environmental awareness, inspire positive behavioural change, and strengthen sanitation practices within Bichi Local Government Area and Kano State at large.

Lawan Shehu Bichi Member State Assembly representing Bichi, APC Chairman Kano North and S A to the Speaker, Hon. Sani Mukaddas, and S A to the Deputy Senate President, Hon. Yusif Aliyu Tumfafi among others.
