Barau Football Club has gained Promotion to the Nigerian National League NNL, after the team won over Yoca Crocodiles 3-2 in a penalty shoot-out on Sunday.
The Independent Mirror reports that in a statement signed by Ahmad Hamisu Gwale, Barau FC Media Officer, on Sunday said that the match was played at the FIFA Goal Project Stadium, Abuja on Sunday 9th, June 2024.
Yoca Crocodiles Striker Sani Dan Bauchi opened the scoring in the 10th minute, but Auwal Muhammed equalised the goal in the 60th minute, immediately after returning from the second half.
The Maliya Boys emerged as Victoria’s after winning in a penalty shoot-out triumph over Yoca Crocodiles from Kaduna State after a 1-1 draw in 90 minutes.
Barau FC under the Chairman Ibrahim Shitu Chanji secured their first ever Nigerian National League NNL ticket against Yoca Crocodiles, after Salem Ali became the hero to score the last goal in a penalty shoot-out.
The Barau FC Chairman who was equally on the ground with some of his board members to see the game, congratulated the Maliya Boys for breaking their jinx of not being able to pull through the final stage of the qualifications.
Deputy President of the Senate Barau Jibrin Maliya, who is the financier of the club, always supports the team’s financial service and concentration has always supported clubs.
Madu Muhammad, the Technical Adviser of the Barau FC expressed his happiness about the victory against Yoca Crocodiles of Kaduna State.
“Qualifying for the Nigerian National League NNL is not easy. Thank God the journey wasn’t easy, but we have put smiles on our Kano people, especially with the result,”

For the first time in Kano History, Barau FC will be the history team ever since some team ago to play in the Nigerian National League NNL next season.
