Nigerian Air Force renovated Paediatric and General Wards in Gwagwarwa Comprehensive Clinic

Kano State governor Eng. Abba Kabir Yusuf commissions renovate, equiped and furnishings of paediatric and general wards at Gwagwarwa Comprehensive Clinic and maternity center in Nassarawa local government area of Kano, in honour of Air Vice Marshal K.M Umar Rtd on Thursday 23 October 2024.

The Independent Mirror reports that the governor was represented by his special adviser to the governor on special intervention programmes, Alhaji Balarabe Ibrahim Gaya, appreciated the effort of the Nigerian Air Force for bringing the project to Kano State under the leadership of Air Marshal Hassan Bala Abubakar.

“This project is in line with the current administration of Kano State under the leadership of Eng. Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf for him to improve the quality service delivery on healthcare in Kano State as one of his major priorities,” he said.

Eng. Abba Kabir Yusuf has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to providing quality and affordable healthcare across the state.

He also said that Kano State government will continue to partner and collaborate with the Nigerian Air Force in terms of project intervention and continue to provide security in the state.

On his part, the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hassan Bala Abubakar, who was represented by Air Vice Marshal I.O. Daramola, Chief of Civil-Military Relations of the Nigerian Air Force, said the intervention is a key step in using a non-kinetic line of operation in boosting civil-military relations in order to win the hearts and minds of the civil populace.

He said the cogitate is to build trust and solicit cooperation between the NAF and communities to enhance national security.

“Globally, civil-military relations and civil cooperation are sought to foster reboots and interactions between the military and civil society to emerge as crucial requirements for positively shaping security architecture.

Accordingly, the NAF, as an integral element of Nigerian national power, is well in line with the importance of civil-military relations,” he said.

The CAS also called members of the community and the hospital’s management and staff to ensure the facility is properly maintained.

In his welcome address, Air Vice Marshal K.M. Umar (Rtd) expresses his gratitude to the Chief of Air Staff for honouring him and the entire Gwagwarwa community by providing all the necessary support for the project.

The intervention under the civil-military relations facilitates the comprehensive completion of the paediatric ward and equipment with solar lights, ten brand-new hospital beds and specialised medical equipment.

The paediatric building, as a last attribute to the memory and services of the late Mukhtar Umar, was built in 2023.

Gwagwarwa Comprehensive Clinic and maternity center renovated and equipped by the Nigerian Air Force..

Present at the event were Air Vice Marshal A.Y Dari and commander 455 Base Service Group of the Nigerian Air force, Kano, Group Captain M. Sulaiman, Bridgeir General A.M Tukur commander of Bukavu Barracks Kano as well as other security agency.
