Kano Varsity Upgrades Student Hostels, Healthcare Facilities, Reaffirms Commitment to Staff Welfare

The Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology (ADUSTECH), Wudil, Kano State, has renovated its student hostels and upgraded its healthcare facilities as part of ongoing efforts to enhance academic standards and improve campus life.

The Independent Mirror reports that this was contained in a statement signed by the Deputy Registrar, Information and Public Affairs of the University, Malam Abdullahi Datti Abdullahi.

Abdullahi disclosed that the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Tukur Musa Yakasai, made this known during the commissioning of the renovated hostels and an inspection tour of key facilities on campus.

He explained that the renovation of both male and female hostels was executed through direct labour.

According to him, the hostel renovation project was funded through modest contributions from students’ registration fees.

He stressed that the University management ensured the judicious use of the funds in order to deliver tangible improvements in students’ living conditions.

The Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, Hon. Justice Abdu Aboki (Rtd), who commissioned the renovated hostels, commended the University management for the initiative, adding that the Council remains committed to the welfare of both staff and students.

In a related development, Prof. Yakasai revealed that the University’s healthcare facility has been significantly upgraded to the status of a General Hospital.

He further disclosed that a renowned medical consultant has been appointed to oversee the affairs of the health facility, with the aim of providing improved and efficient medical services to students, staff, and the entire university community.

The Vice-Chancellor also noted that ADUSTECH’s science and technology-based courses remain among the most affordable in Nigeria, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to accessible and quality education
