The Kano State Governor, Engr Abba Kabir Yusuf, has urged his officers reporting to him in government ministries and agencies to work hard to ensure that the public is aware of the government’s work.
The Independent Mirror reports that this was stated by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Faruk Ibrahim, who represented the governor at the completion of the four-day training for SSR and SR officers, urging them to use their skills to carry out their duties safely.
The governor also commended the Ministry of Information and internal affairs under the Commissioner for the Ministry, Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, for its efforts to develop projects that will bring development to Kano and the people of the state.
The governor said, “I will use this opportunity to inform you that our Kano government, in the way that access to information helps in the development of the community, encourages you to use this knowledge you have acquired in your daily work.
I also commend those who provided this training for gaining better skills, so I declare this four-day conference officially closed, may God help Kano state and my people”
On Thursday 10/7/2025, a special training session was held for the SSR and SR of Kano State to train them on how to improve their skills in the field of media.
The training was held under the patronage of the Kano State Governor under the chairmanship of the Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Mr. Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya.
Over one hundred and thirty persons, benefited from the training to gain skills in the field of media.
In his speech, the Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Mr. Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, urged them to carry out their duties with honesty and integrity, adding that.
“Alhamdulillah, today is a day of joy and happiness, because everything we imagined has come true after the start of this training and today it has been completed”.
Waiya added that
“If you look at the faces of the participants in this training, you will see that they are confident, now even if you do not call them journalists, you can call them young journalists considering the way they were given this training by senior journalism professionals”.
The commissioner commended the governor of Kano State for the way he has been bringing development to the people of the state in various fields.
Finally, he wished them good health and may God bless them to carry out their duties with honesty and integrity.
