Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has begun distributing Ramadan gifts to government house workers, including rice, millet, spaghetti, and ₦10,000 cash.
The Independent mirror reports that, the government house correspondents were surprisingly left out of the distribution.
During the initial distribution, the governor’s social media team, security personnel, and other staff received packages containing 25kg bags of rice.
Journalists were informed to collect their packages but were later told their names, told Independent Mirror were not on the list and would be contacted later.
In a confusing turn of events, correspondents were directed to the press center on Sunday, only to discover they were not among the beneficiaries of the governor’s Ramadan gifts.
The Director General of Media and Publicity, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, claimed he was unaware of the issue and stated the journalists were not on Sunday’s list, leaving them frustrated.
Meanwhile, Governor Yusuf distributed over 450 bags of rice to various journalist associations in the state, including the Nigeria Union of Journalists and the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations.
