The Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has paid a Sallah visit to pilgrims from the state at their accommodation in Saudi Arabia, where he presented each pilgrim with a gift of 250 riyals, equivalent to N105,000.

The Independent Mirror reports that the visit took place on Saturday night. Speaking during the visit, Governor Yusuf commended the success of this year’s (2025) Hajj exercise, describing it as better than previous years, particularly last year.

“Last year’s Hajj exercise was also good. However, this one is better, and we are grateful to God for this success,” he said.

The governor explained that the visit was meant to strengthen relationships, offer prayers for Kano State and Nigeria, and extend greetings to the pilgrims in celebration of Sallah.

“Kano and Nigeria too need prayers, and I urge you to pray for them and for those who have died during the exercise,” he said.

Governor Yusuf expressed condolences to the families of pilgrims who lost their lives in Makkah, Madina, and during Arafah, praying that those missing would be found.

He also urged the pilgrims to continue with acts of worship and refrain from any actions that could compromise their Hajj exercise.

The governor expressed gratitude to the Kano Hajj Commission and other stakeholders who contributed to the smooth conduct of the Hajj.

“I also thank the local government chairmen for their unwavering support in taking care of their people. And there are also members of the state assembly, like I said. Everyone is doing their best,” he added.

Governor Yusuf prayed for the acceptance of the pilgrims’ Hajj exercise and their safe return to Nigeria.

Also speaking, the Director General of the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Lamin Rabi’u Ɗan Baffa, expressed gratitude to the governor for his support and efforts during the pilgrimage.
