Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin, All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairman Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, and former Kano State Governor Ibrahim Shekarau attended the wedding of Kawu Sumaila’s daughter.
The Independent Mirror reports that the wedding fatiha took place on Friday at the Sumaila Juma’at Mosque in Kano State, officiated by Professor Salisu Shehu, the Chief Imam of the mosque.
Senator Kawu Sumaila expressed his appreciation for the attendance at the fatiha of Dr. Khadija Suleiman Abdulrahman Kawu Sumaila and Faisal Abdulmanafi Sarina, as well as Maryam Abdulrahman Kawu Sumaila and Bello Ibrahim Ma’aji.
Dignitaries in attendance included Senator Muhammed Tahir Mungono, Senator Abba Moro, Senator Abdul Ningi, Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, Senator Victor Umeh, Senator Danjuma Goje, Senator Eze Kenneth, and Senator Nasiru Sani Zangon Daura.
Others present were Senator Ekong Samson, Senator Khalid Ibrahim, Senator Khabib Mustapha, Senator Sahabi Yau, Senator Abdulhamid Mallam Madori, Senator Ikra Aliyu Bilbis, and Senator Shehu Buba, among other prominent figures.
Additionally, former Senate President Senator Ahmed Lawan, Kano State APC Chairman Abdullahi Abbas, and Aminu Dabo were among the dignitaries who attended the wedding fatiha.
Senator Abdurrahman Kawu Sumaila of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), representing Kano South in the Senate, hosted the event.
However, sources confirmed Independent Mirror, that no other NNPP members were present at the wedding fatiha.
