The Federal Fire Service Kano branch, has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic loss of Kano athletes, journalists, medical personnel, and administrators who died in a ghastly auto crash while returning from the National Sports Festival held in Ogun State.
The Independent Mirror reports that this was contained in a statement issued by ASF Nura Abdulkadir Maigida, Public relation Officer, Federal Fire Service Kano Command on Sunday.
According to the statement the fire Service under the leadership of the Engineer Kazeem Oyefola Sholadoye DCF, the management, officers and entire men of Federal Fire Service Kano State expressed deep sorrow over the tragic loss of Kano athletes.
The devastating incident occurred near Dakatsalle town, approximately 50 kilometers from Kano, casting a shadow of grief across the state and 22 people died.
“On behalf of the state controller Federal Fire Service Kano Commmand Engnr.Kazeem Oyefola Sholadoye DCF, Management,Officers and entire men of Federal Fire Service Kano State Command, extend our deepest condolences to the executive governor of kano state Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf,The Management of the State Sport Commission, Families, Collagues and Friends of the sport crew,who was tragically lost their lives during the fatal accident,occurred at Dakatsalle,and claimed the lives of 22 Athletes,coming back from recently concluded National Sport Festival,held in Abeokuta Ogun State.
Indeed this devastating incident has left us all in shock and grief May the bereaved families have strength and solace in this difficult time.
As we mourn this loss I urge the general public to prioritize safe practices in their daily activities It is everyone’s responsibility to exercise caution,follow safety guidelines and report potential hazards.
