Former Barau Football Club striker, Kabiru Abdullahi, delivered a standout performance as Kano-based club, Kano Ambassadors FC, secured promotion to the Nigerian National League (NNL) next season.
The Independent Mirror reports that Kano Ambassadors FC, impressed during the promotion playoffs held in Gumel, Jigawa State, winning all three of their matches, a testament to the team’s dedication, discipline, and consistent hard work throughout the campaign.
Kabiru Abdullahi, who was instrumental in Barau FC’s promotion from the Nationwide League One (NLO) to the NNL last season, once again made history by contributing significantly to Kano Ambassadors’ rise this year.
The 23-year-old forward featured in all 12 matches of the 2024/2025 NLO season, scoring 9 goals and providing 7 assists for Kano Ambassadors FC, making him one of the standout performers in the league.
Kano Ambassadors’ promotion to the NNL is expected to have a positive impact on Nigerian football. 
With their impressive form and strong squad, the team is poised to make a solid impression in the league and continue their rise.
Kabiru, who played for Barau FC in their last season’s NLO promotion playoff and was later dropped after the team recruited more experienced players for the NNL.
He then joined Kano Ambassadors FC this season, and contributed the club’s for NNL promotion.
