Barau FC Optimistic on NPFL Promotion, as Super Eight Gets Venue and Date

Barau Football Club is optimistic to showcasing quality and determination in the 2024/25 Nigeria National League (NNL) Super Eight playoff tournament.

The Independent Mirror reports that on Saturday, in a friendly match, Barau FC thrashed Dambatta FC 9-1 as the team intensified preparations for the NNL Super Eight.

The Maliya Boys are committed to working hard to secure promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) for the 2025/26 season.

On Saturday, the board of the Nigeria National League (NNL) announced that the Super Eight will be held at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba, the Delta State capital, from July 5 to 8, 2025.

The Eight teams have qualified for the Super Eight, including Warri Wolves, Osun United, Crown FC, and Kun Khalifa FC of Owerri from the southern region.

From the northern region, the qualified teams are Wikki Tourists of Bauchi, Yobe Desert Stars, Doma United of Gombe, and Barau Football Club of Kano State.

The competition will determine the four teams that will gain promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) for the 2025/26 season.

Recall that the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, in Enugu hosted last year’s edition, and this year, the Stephen Keshi Stadium will serve as the host venue.

The tournament will also decide the overall winner of the 2024/25 NNL season. Beyond Limits Football Academy won last season’s edition.
