Former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has commended the performance of Arsenal following their victory against Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League.
The Independent Mirror reports that the quarter-final match between Real Madrid and Arsenal, played on Wednesday at the Santiago Bernabéu, ended 2-1 in favor of the Gunners.
Atiku Abubakar, on his verified Facebook page, hailed the team’s performance and said, “Arsenal just taught us a lesson in consolidating our strengths in a coalition vehicle. Victory is assured when we stand united.”
Arsenal’s win at the Bernabéu sealed a 5-1 aggregate victory, setting up a semi-final clash against Paris Saint-Germain.
The victory ranks as one of the club’s greatest in Europe and puts them into the last four of the competition for the first time since 2009, and only the third time in their history.
