American businessman and philanthropist Bill Gates, has stated that artificial intelligence could replace doctors, teachers, mental health professionals, and more within the next 10 years.
The Independent Mirror reports that, Bill Gates, while speaking on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, said that AI will take over so many tasks that “humans won’t be needed for most things.”
When Fallon asked if people would still be needed, Gates responded, “Not for most things,” though he added that “we’ll decide” how humans continue to fit in.
Gates described this shift as the start of a new era of “free intelligence,” where AI becomes a part of everyday life — assisting with everything from improved medical treatments and diagnoses to personal AI tutors and assistants.
Despite the major changes ahead, Gates remains hopeful, saying AI could lead to significant progress in health care, education, and the fight against climate change.
