Mahmud Batande Clinch Champion In Kano Table Tennis Competition

Mahmud Batande, a 22-year-old table tennis player, has emerged as the champion of the Kano State Table Tennis Championship 2024. 

The Independent Mirror reports that the tournament, held at the Ado Bayero Shopping Mall, attracted over 30 participants.

Batande took home the top prize of N100,000 and a gold medal, while Usama Abdulmutallib secured the second position with a cash prize of N50,000, a certificate, and a silver medal.

Also, the two other players who finished third and fourth have received N30,000 each, and certificate of honour.

The championship was organized by Alhaji Bashir Umar, chairman of the Table Tennis Black and White.

The acting chairman of the Kano State Sports Commission, Malam Ibrahim Umar Fagge, commended the organizers for a successful event.

Batande expressed gratitude to the organizers and hopes to represent Kano State in future international table tennis competitions.
