Kano State to host the 36th edition of the Dala Hard Court Tennis Championship 2023 which has been scheduled from 10 November to 18 at the Kano club.
The Independent Mirror reported that the Director of the Tournament, Yusuf Datti, made this during a press brief with newsmen in Kano on 8 November 2023.
Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf is expected to be the special guest of honour at the opening and closing ceremony of the championship.
According to Datti, the 20 top men’s and 10 top women’s ranked tennis stars in the country will automatically qualify for the main draw in the tournament.
He added that over 100 tennis players from within and outside Nigeria participate in the prestigious tournament.

“Our budget for this year is estimated to be higher than last year as a result of the general rise in prices”,
“We are confident of a positive response from our main sponsors, Dr. Aliko Dangote, Fidelity Bank FC, First Bank Of Nigeria Plc and Wacot Limited as well as other corporate organizations and individuals.”
Yusuf Datti also assured that the organizing committee would provide accommodation and feeding to both National officials and players.
The preliminaries will be held between November 10-12 while the main draw will commence on Monday, November 13.
The winner in the men’s category will go home with a cash prize of N1m while the winner in the ladies’s category will, smile home with N500,000.
