The security agents attached to the Kano State Government House have arrested a suspect accused of stealing a Toyota Hilux vehicle belonging to the convoy of the state’s Deputy Governor.
The Independent Mirror reports that reliable sources confirmed that on Wednesday the suspect, identified as Ya’u Gezawa, who is one of the official drivers at the Government House, was apprehended on Tuesday by the Government House security personnel.
He is currently in custody for further investigation.
Recalls that Daily Nigeria had reported that a Toyota Hilux assigned to the Deputy Governor’s convoy was stolen from the Government House premises in the early hours of Monday, the vehicle was reportedly driven out through Gate 4 around 5:00 a.m. without being stopped by the security officers on duty.
The Kano State Government has yet to issue an official statement, but insiders told SolaceBase the swift arrest was made possible through internal intelligence efforts coordinated by the Government House security unit.
