The Sports Writers Association (SWAN) Kano, has received a well-deserved honour by Ismael Abba Tangalashi, from Al-Qalam University Dutsinma Road, Katsina State for his outstanding work in hausa sports commentary, analysis, and presentations. His dedication and expertise in this field have made a significant impact on the hausa-speaking sports community.
The Independent Mirror reported that, this was contained in a statement signed by Muzammil Dalhat Yola, assistant secretary of SWAN on behalf of Chairman SWAN Kano State Chapter on 30th, November, 2023.
Tangalashi’s journey in the world of sports journalism began several years ago and since then, he’s for sports and his exceptional skills in conveying the excitement through hausa commentary have captivated audiences across various platforms. Whether it is on television, radio, or live events, Tangalashi’s commentary has become synonymous with thrilling sports moments for hausa-speaking viewers and listeners.
His ability to provide insightful analysis during sports events has also been widely acknowledged. Tangalashi’s deep understanding of the game, coupled with his keen observation, allows him to dissect strategies, highlight players’ performances, and provide valuable insights into the dynamics of the matches. Recall that last week the Al-Qalam University Dutsinma Kano State, has honour Ismael Abba Tangalashi for his outstanding work in the Sport Activities.
Tangalash became the first Hausa man to provide live FIFA World Cup commentary on television during the opening ceremony of the Qatar 2022 World Cup clash between host country Qatar and Ecuador.
His linguistic prowess in the Hausa language, coupled with his adept commentary skills, has positioned him as an exemplar in sports commentary, news reporting, and documentary production.
He also boasts coverage of two FIFA World Cups as a commentator, along with four AFCONS. Currently, he graces the audience as one of the commentators for the 2023/24 Nigeria Premier Football League season, showcasing his enduring commitment to delivering top-tier sports commentary.
