Senator Barau Disburses Over 47 Cars, 282 Motorcycles to APC Chairmen, Others

The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, has distributed 47 cars and 282 motorcycles to his constituents in Kano North Senatorial District.

The Independent Mirror reports that the beneficiaries include chairmen and secretaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC) across the 13 local government areas of Kano North Senatorial District, as well as members of the Headmasters’ Forum, Senior Secondary School Principals’ Forum.

Others Junior Secondary School Principals’ Forum, the Kano North SSR to the Governor Forum, among others.

The Special Adviser to the Deputy President of the Senate on Media and Publicity, Ismail Mudashir, said the mega empowerment programme was designed to boost mobility, improve outreach, and promote self-reliance among beneficiaries.

The cars and motorcycles were distributed in Kano on Wednesday, in the presence of APC members, dignitaries, and other stakeholders in the state.

Speaking at the event, the Kano State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Agenda, Malam Salihu Sagir Takai, said the intervention aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

“This initiative is part of Senator Barau’s continued interventions in human and capital development in Kano North and beyond. This is not the first time he has carried out such an intervention, and it will certainly not be the last,” he said.

Senator Barau, represented by his Chief of Staff, Professor Muhammad Ibn Abdallah, stated that the gesture was aimed at lifting beneficiaries out of poverty and promoting self-reliance.

He urged the beneficiaries not to sell the items but to use them productively to generate income.

The Deputy President of the Senate has also lined up a series of interventions under his mega empowerment programmes to boost economic growth in Kano North and Kano State at large.

The event was attended by the Special Adviser to Senator Barau on Media and Publicity, Ismail Mudashir; the APC Chairman of Kunchi Local Government Area, Hon. Shitu Madaki Kunchi; and Hon. Kabiru Ado Lakwaya, former Kano State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development and a member of the South West Development Commission (SWDC), among others.
