The Independent Mirror reports that this action underscores the ongoing power tussle between two contending monarchs—Muhammadu Sanusi II and Aminu Ado Bayero—each has appointed a different individual as Galadiman Kano.
Sources told Independent Mirror that Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II is expected to accompany his newly appointed Galadiman Kano, Alhaji Munir Sanusi, to his official district residence in Galadanci.
On April 8, 2025, His Royal Highness Muhammadu Sanusi II, the Emir of Kano, approved the elevation of Alhaji Mannir Sanusi, the District Head of Bichi, to the position of Galadiman Kano.
In a parallel development, the 15th Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, also appointed Alhaji Sanusi Ado Bayero as Galadiman Kano.
A letter dated April 21, 2025, and signed by Alhaji Awaisu Abbas Sanusi confirmed Emir Aminu’s approval of Sanusi Ado Bayero’s promotion from Wamban Kano to Galadiman Kano.
