Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, on Tuesday commissioned 1,450 newly trained Operation Rainbow personnel, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to peace and security across the state.

The Independent Mirror reports that Speaking at the Zaria Road Stadium, Jos, Governor Mutfwang described security as “the bedrock upon which sustainable development is built” and congratulated the graduates for their decision to serve.

“You are not above the law; rather, you are its guardians and partners,” he said.

He stressed that Operation Rainbow is a community-based security outfit working alongside the Army, Police, and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.

“Every operation they undertake is under direct supervision, and the outfit protects citizens of all faiths and ethnic backgrounds,” the Governor said.

Governor Mutfwang highlighted that the recruits were drawn from all 17 local government areas and comprised both Christians and Muslims, assuring residents that the force is focused on combating criminality, not targeting any group.
