Gov. Yusuf Appoints Ahmed Musa, Lurwan Malikawa as Kano Pillars General Manager, Board Member

Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has approved the appointment of Super Eagles Captain, Ahmed Musa, OON, MON, as the new General Manager of Kano Pillars Football Club.

The Independent Mirror reports that Governor Yusuf also appointed renowned and experienced, journalist Lurwan Idris Malikawa Garu as a member of the club’s board.

According to a statement issued by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the appointments followed a series of consultative meetings with key stakeholders.

According to statement, “It was collectively agreed to reappoint most members of the existing board for another one-year term, with strategic adjustments aimed at enhancing the club’s performance”

The previous board’s one-year tenure had expired, during which the team successfully finished 9th on the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) table 2024/2025 season.

The newly approved management board included Ali Muhammad Umar (Nayara) as club Chairman, Salisu Mohammed Kosawa Member, Yusuf Danladi Andy Cole Member, Lurwan Idris Malikawa Garu – Member

Others board Members including Nasiru Bello – Member, Muhammad Ibrahim (Hassan West) – Member, Abdulkarim Audi Chara – Member, Muhammad Danjuma Gwarzo – Member, Mustapha Usman Darma – Member, Umar Dankura – Member, Ahmad Musbahu – Member, Gambo Salisu Shuaibu Kura – Member

Also the Governor approved the Rabiu Abdullahi as Member, Aminu Ma’alesh – Member, Safiyanu Abdu – Member, Abubakar Isah Dandago Yamalash – Media Director I, Ismail Abba Tangalash – Media Director II.

The government expressed confidence that the reconstituted board, under the leadership structure, will consolidate on the team’s achievements and deliver improved results in the forthcoming season.
