Gombe Governor Appoints BBC’s Ibrahim Isa DG State Media Corporation

The executive governor of Gombe state Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya approved the appointment of Ibrahim Isa of the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), as the Director-General of the Gombe State Media Corporation.

The Independent Mirror reported that the development was contained in a letter signed by the secretary to the government of the State, Professor Ibrahim Njodi, adding that Ibrahim Isa’s appointment takes effect immediately.

According to the letter, the appointment was based on his outstanding personal qualities and extensive experience in the field.

Njodi’s statement partly read, “Isa brings over two decades of journalism expertise to his new role, having excelled as a reporter, producer, newsreader, TV host and media manager. With his track record, Ibrahim Isa is expected to bring a fresh perspective and innovative ideas to the Gombe State Media Corporation to foster a dynamic and vibrant media environment.”

Governor Yahaya then expressed confidence that Ibrahim Isa’s leadership would contribute to GMC’s growth and its ability to serve the public better with accurate and timely information.

The position of DG includes the leadership of the Radio and Television of Gombe state.
