Strong indications suggest that former President Goodluck Jonathan and former Kano State Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso may be quietly aligning under a proposed National Democratic Coalition (NDC).
The Independent Mirror reports that sources linked to the movement say talks are ongoing to form a broad opposition alliance capable of challenging President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Insiders also point to ongoing consultations, early mobilisation, and growing support for what could emerge as a major opposition bloc.
Earlier this month, the New Nigeria Integrity Movement (NNIM), Middle Belt Zone, called on former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan to consider returning to national leadership in the 2027 general election, citing the urgent need for experienced and stabilising leadership amid worsening national challenges.
Kwankwaso, who contested in the last election, is also reportedly considering another bid in the 2027 general election, with sources indicating he may run under any political party.
However, efforts to reach both figures for comments were unsuccessful as of the time of filing this report.
