The chief of the Air Staff, (CAS), Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar, has commissioned the 9 renovated projects for the Kano air force base service group.
The Independent Mirror irror reports that the ceremony was held on Saturday, 15th February 2025, attended by the commander, 455 Base service group, of the Nigerian air force, Kano, Group Captain Mustapha Sulaiman and other officers.
The blocks were renovated by the Nigerian air force, aimed to accommodate military officers, airmen and airwomen and personnel across various ranks.
While speaking to the newsmen, the Nigerian chief of air staff, Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar, commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his contribution towards security and welfare.
He emphasized that improved living conditions are essential for a motivated and effective force.
Hassan Abubakar, also reaffirmed his commitment to the welfare officer to the Nigerian air force security, assured support and enhanced the development of the security personnel.
The barracks is expected to enhance the welfare and operational readiness of military personnel stationed in Kano, by providing modern housing and facilities, to boost morale and ensure a high standard of living for members of the armed forces.
The project, which includes 30 Single Officers’ Quarters and 60 NCO Quarters, aims to provide dignified housing for personnel.
The representative of beneficiaries, Flying Luth. Sunusi Momoh, thanked the Nigerian air force for the gesture.
The Federal Government appears committed to expanding the military infrastructure, with plans for additional renovations of the remaining barracks blocks.
The event was also attended by the Kano state commissioner of Police, Salman Dogo, representative from Nigeria road safety, and Nigerian customs Kano command, Bukavu barracks, Brig. General M A Tukur, among others.
