Barau Football Club began their 2024/2025 Nigerian National League (NNL) campaign with a 1-1 draw against Mighty Jets FC at the Dambatta Stadium, in Kano on Saturday.
The Independent Mirror reports that in a match report released by the club’s Media Officer Ahmad Hamisu Gwale, on Sunday reveal that the encounter saw both teams create scoring opportunities, with the visitors Mighty Jets FC taking the lead through Jatau Joseph in the 40th-minute.
However, Barau FC fought back, with Chijioke Williams scoring a fantastic equalizing goal in the 50th minute, assisting from Ibrahim Usman.
A large crowd of enthusiastic fans attended the match, including Barau FC Chairman, Ibrahim Shitu Chanji, Barau Jibrin Chief of staff Professor Muhd Ibn Abdallah, Shitu Madaki and others.
Speaking after the match, the coaches crew of Barau FC expressed disappointment but assured fans of a better performance in the next match.
Barau FC, will face Wikki Tourist FC of Bauchi in their next match, scheduled for Saturday, December 14, 2024, at the Abubakar Tabawa Balewa Stadium in Bauchi state.
