The Kano State Head of Civil Service, Hajiya Bilkisu Shehu Maimota, today inspected selected sports facilities across the state as part of preparations for the hosting of the Federation of Public Service Games.
The Independent Mirror reports that the inspection was aimed at assessing the readiness and suitability of the facilities to ensure that they meet the required standards for the successful hosting of the games.
According to a statement signed by the Director of Public Enlightenment in the Office of the Head of Civil Service, Rukayya Uba Sulaiman, on Monday, the facilities visited included Kano Club, Sa’adatu Rimi College of Education and Bayero University, Kano, among others.
The Head of Service was accompanied by the Chairman of the Kano State Sports Commission, Tukur Babangida; Permanent Secretary, Human Resources and Service Improvement Directorate, Sabiu Shuaibu.
Others, Permanent Secretary, Establishment, Abba A. Danguguwa; Permanent Secretary, Special Duties in the Deputy Governor’s Office; Permanent Secretary, Youth and Sports; directors; and other government officials.
During the inspection, the Head of Service emphasised the importance of adequate preparation, proper coordination and ensuring that all necessary facilities are put in place to provide a conducive environment for participating athletes and officials.
She expressed optimism that, with the collective efforts of relevant stakeholders, Kano State would successfully host the Federation of Public Service Games and emerge victorious.
