The Nigeria Premier Football League NPFL and Nigerian National League NNL teams, to participate in the Gusau/Ahlan Pre-Season 2024 Tournament which held in Plateau State.
The Independent Mirror reports that In a statement signed by Director Media of the tournament, Rilwan Idris Malikawa Garu, on Wednesday, said that the Coordinator of the tournament, Alhaji Abahurarai Dahiru, assured that the committee reached an agreement with all stakeholders to kick off the tournament on 13 August 2024.
Abahurarai Dahiru added that the sixteen football teams from NPFL and NNL are expected to participate in this year’s tournament, which is held at Jos Stadium, Plateau State.
He said the committee has started sending invitation letters to the teams that indicate their interest in participating in the competition.
Dahiru revealed that the President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau MON, would declare the opening of the tournament.
Also, the Plateau State Governor Barrister Caleb Mutfwang will be special guest of honour, while Plateau State Football Association Chairman Alhaji Yahaya Kwande will be the Chief host.
Abahurarai Dahiru, thanked the Plateau State Government for accepting to host the tournament and pledged that the committee would do everything humanly possible to make the competition successful and very memorable.
