Tinubu Clinches Kano Presidential Primary Election, Earns 500,000 Votes

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has recorded a landslide victory in the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Primary Election held in Kano State, defeating fellow aspirant Stanley Osifo.

The Independent Mirror reports that this was contained in a statement issued by the governor’s spokesman Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa on Sunday.

Tinubu polled a total of 500,852 votes, while Osifo scored 2,675 votes across the 44 local government areas of the state.

The exercise was conducted across all 44 local government areas of Kano State under the supervision of the State Collation Officer, Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf.

The Deputy Governor of Kano State, Murtala Sule Garo, served as agent for President Tinubu, while Auwal Muhammad Kofa represented Stanley Osifo during the collation process.

The collation exercise covered all 44 local government areas, with results recorded and verified at ward and local government levels before final aggregation at the state collation centre.

Declaring the results at Africa House after returning officers from 44 LGAs submitted their reports, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf who is the state chief colation officer, commended APC members in Kano for their peaceful conduct, unity, and discipline during the presidential primary election.

He said the massive votes recorded for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu reflected the strength of the APC and the confidence party members have in the party’s leadership ahead of 2027.

The governor also urged party members to remain united and committed to the continued success of the APC in Kano State and across the country.
