Barau Football Club midfielder, Shammasu Muhammad, has been awarded the prestigious NNL Goal of the Month award for April 2025, following his breathtaking 22-yard long-range strike against Gombe United.
The Independent Mirror reports that in a statement issued by the club’s Media officer, Ahmad Hamisu Gwale, revealed that the award ceremony was held this week.
Shammasu Muhammad’s incredible goal, showcased exceptional technique, power, and precision, making it a standout moment in the league.
The Chairman of the Abuja Football Association, Alhaji Abba Mukhtar, officially presented the award to Shammasu Muhammad during a ceremony held on Wednesday, 18, June 2025, in Abuja.

The Goal of the Month award recognizes the most outstanding and impressive goal scored during the month, considering the distance and difficulty of the shot, the skill demonstrated, and its impact on the game.
Barau FC made history, becoming the first club from Kano State to win the award,the club also acknowledged the vital support of the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin, whose contributions have significantly boosted the team’s development.
