The National Director of the Tinubu Support Organization (TSO) on Tuesday inaugurated the National Director of Football as well as coordinators for the six geopolitical zones of Nigeria at a brief but colourful ceremony held at Toprank Hotel, Utako, Abuja.
The Independent Mirror reports that this was contained in a statement signed by Eche Amos (Fellow, CBS), TSO Director of Media, on Wednesday, 11 March 2026.
According to him, the Director General of the organization, Hon. Aminu Sulaiman, said the appointments were part of the TSO’s efforts to promote sports development and showcase Nigeria’s budding talents ahead of the forthcoming National Football Tournament in honour of Nigeria’s incumbent President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR).
He charged the newly inaugurated officials to ensure the success of the tournament in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, promote unity, and foster national pride.
The DG emphasized the importance of sports in nation-building and President Tinubu’s commitment to youth empowerment, adding that the TSO National Football Tournament will bring together teams from across the 36 states of the federation and the FCT, Abuja, beginning with zonal eliminations.
Speaking on behalf of the newly inaugurated officials, the National Director of Football of the TSO and General Manager of Kwara United, Bashir Badawiy, thanked the DG and the TSO leadership for finding them worthy to serve in the organization, pledging to bring their wealth of experience to bear in ensuring the success of the tournament.
Bashir added that he would hit the ground running with his team to ensure the goals of the tournament are achieved, particularly in discovering raw talents from the grassroots who could rise to national and international stardom.
The inaugurated zonal coordinators are Solomon Babanjah (North Central), Alhaji Abubakar Abubakar Dan Fulani (North East), Abuhuraira Dahiru (North West), Mr. Mojeed Adegbindin (South West), Paul Ojo Omamomo (South South), and Nnamdi Charles Chukwuemeka (South East).
April 2026 is tentatively being considered for the kickoff of the TSO Football Tournament across the zones.
The inauguration ceremony also featured the presentation of letters of appointment to the appointees and members of the media team by the Director General of the Tinubu Support Organization.
