Kano Govt Holds Capacity Building Program for Pillars Management, Aims to Strengthen Sports Activities

The Kano State Ministry of Youth and Sports Development has launched a two-day capacity-building program for the management of Kano Pillars FC, aimed to promoting sports development across the state and engaging youth meaningfully.

The Independent Mirror reports that the workshop, which runs from Thursday to Friday, July 24–25, 2025, is tagged “Two-Day Capacity Building Program for Kano Pillars Management..

The initiative is designed to strengthen the operations of Kano Pillars and improve sports activities across Kano State.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Mustapha Rabi’u Kwankwaso, emphasized the importance of promoting sports among the youth as a means of building a brighter future for the state.

Commissioner Kwankwaso also charged the Kano Pillars to aim for victory in the upcoming season, highlighting the club’s proud history of winning four Nigerian Premier Football League (NPFL) titles.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the Kano Pillars Board, Alhaji Ali Nayara, commended Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for his remarkable support and continuous efforts in promoting sports development in the state.

Also in attendance was the Special Adviser to the Governor of Youth and Sports, Hon. Sani Musa Danja, who expressed appreciation to Governor Yusuf for his visionary leadership and unwavering support for sports in Kano State.

The event was also attended by the Acting Chairman of the Kano State Sports Commission, Ibrahim Umar Fagge; Director of Media for Kano Pillars, Abubakar Isah Dandago; Assistant Director, Ismail Abba Tangalashi; and other key stakeholders.

The Sai Masu Gida continue their preparations for the upcoming 2025/2026 NPFL season, which is set to kick off at the end of August, as the club is aiming to make history by clinching fifth league title.
