NPFL: Kano Pillars beat Remo, Lobi End Doma United’s Unbeaten Run

Kano Pillars FC beat Nigeria Premier Football League leaders 2023/24 season Remo Stars 2-1 at the Sani Abacha Stadium on Saturday 17 December 2023.

The Independent Mirror reported that Pillars Striker Ibrahim Mustapha gave Pillars the lead five minutes after the break.

The Remo Stars fought back with Dayo Ojo netting the equaliser in the 72nd minute.

But Veteran Kano Pillars midfielder Rabiu Ali fired home the winning goal six minutes later in the match.

Remo Stars maintained top position in the Nigeria Premier Football League table despite the defeat.

While Kano Pillars FC moved to 6th position in the NPFL table with 22 points in 14 matches.

The Kano Pillars coach Abdullahi Maikaba in an interviewed with ewsmen expressed his happiness for the brilliant performance by Sai Masu Gida during the match.

Maikaba also said that he has the confidence that Masu Gida will defeat Tornadoes in the next week for match week 15 at Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna, on Thursday, 21 December 2023.

In another development, Doma United lost for the first time in nine games following a 2-1 defeat to Lobi Stars on Sunday.

Solomon Oganbor and Suleiman Mojereola scored for Lobi Stars.

The visitors scored late in the game courtesy of Samuel Enefiok’s strike.
