The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Kano State Command has honoured Barau Football Club Chairman, Alhaji Ibrahim Shitu Chanji as Peace Ambassador of War Against Drug Abuse.
The Independent Mirror reports that A statement issued by Ahmad Hamisu Gwale, the Barau FC Media Officer made available to the journalist in Kano, Ibrahim Chanji, was honoured by the Kano State Commandant of the Agency, Abubakar Idris Ahmad, when the body paid a courtesy visit to his office.
Speaking during the visit, the Commandant described the issue of drug abuse among teenagers as a time bomb, calling on the community to take corrective measures towards addressing the menace in our society.
He promised that, at every home match for Barau FC in Kano State, the agency would support and deploy personnel for the match exercises.
The State Commandant of NDLEA canvassed the need for a common forum and, for a way, NDLEA will sensitize players, students, and the public as a whole, on dangers associated with the use of hard drugs.
Appreciating the Ambassadorial honour on him by the Agency, Ibrahim Shitu Chanji thanked the agency, he also reiterated his campaign against drug abuse.
